Written by Our August “sew day” focused on making pillowcases. Catherine had prepared dozens of kits from donated fabric.
Here’s a thank you note from Catherine (borrowed from the September newsletter):
A great big THANK YOU to all who participated in the Sew Day for “Ryan’s Case for Smiles.” We finished 45 pillowcases that day! They will be distributed to children in hospitals and at Ronald McDonald Houses. Lots and lots of smiles were created that day!
FYI – If you have cute “child friendly” prints to donate for more kits, Catherine likes to cut the two fabric pieces this size:
- For body of case, 27 inches by WOF.
- For band, 10 inches by WOF.
According to the charity chart in the most recent newsletter, we have donated 202 pillowcases this year, so far! (That surpasses our 2021 total of 201.) Thanks to all who help in any way to support the charity work of the Guild!
